FOREWORD
One mandatory requirement for university teaching in Kenya and globally is research and publication. Dr Ndikaru wa Teresia has done that in writing this second volume of Research Methodology for Students of Social Sciences. The first volume was well researched and you need to read this second volume to the end.
A trainer like Dr. Ndikaru who can be dynamically involved in training, research and publication deserves special commendation. I have known Dr. Ndikaru for more than 35 years as a writer and a celebrated activist on environment and human rights issues in Kenya. He is an author of many books and international peer refereed journals.
This book is of its own kind. It is candid, meticulous and down-to-earth on research issues other books have gambled not to display. It is worth engaging with in research methods issues.
It is important to have students informed about research facilities, the research process in terms of providing the needed research data and utilizing research findings and recommendations and to seek solutions to the tribulations that affect humanity.
The book provides useful principles in research methods and I highly recommend this book as a text course text book and as a field reference while conducting research. It is well designed to cater for the needs of students at pre-graduate, graduate and post-graduate levels.
To exist is to change, to change is to mature, to mature is to go on re-creating oneself endlessly - Henri-Louis Bergson.
