Its ability to oxidize in either acidic, neutral, or alkali media also makes it widely applicable in many other areas of chemistry. In this paper we present an optimized spectrophotometric flow injection method for determination of peroxydisulfate. The analyte oxidizes o-dianisidine to form a stable product which has a convenient absorbance maximum at 450 nm. This provides a simple and sensitive alternative to present methods which are more costly, tedious, or complex.
